Freecharge foray into the Food and Beverages Sector is a boon for customers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move of demonetization has brought a major change in the economy. As its aftermath, the use of online shopping applications has increased to a great extent. As a matter of fact, the customers have opted to go cashless for their day-to-day purchases.
FreeCharge, one of the leading online payment applications highlighted that food orders on their app have increased 12 times in the last 30 days. A number of Food and beverages outlets have been added in over 110 cities since demonetization.

It is also accepted at McDonald’s, Cafe Coffee Day, Barista, Punjab Grill, Asia Seven, Zambar, FresCo, Pino’s, Baker Street and more. Various pubs & eateries like the Irish House, Beer Cafe have also started using FreeCharge for cashless payments.
The company has tie-ups with a number of renowned food delivery companies, such as Zomato, Foodpanda, Swiggy, Fresh Menu, Runnr and Domino’s. Along with these, it also has tie-ups with thousands of neighborhood F&B outlets, which have a strong delivery business in their catchments.
According to Govind Rajan, Chief Executive Officer, Freecharge, “Food purchase constitutes a significant part of daily usage. Users across big and small cities have shifted their regular meal payments to FreeCharge to save time and effort in these recurring transactions. We have rapidly scaled up our presence in both the organised and the unorganised food sectors.”
In order to expand its reach to all the major airports across the country, FreeCharge is also being used at all leading F&B outlets in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai & Kolkata airports. It is also extending its reach to cover the top 200 malls across India targeting the most sought-after food courts and eateries in metropolitan cities.
