International conference on Swachch Bharat Abhiyan at Garden City College

An international Conference on Clean Mission India was held at Bengaluru-based Garden City College, November 25, 2015. Clean Mission India is a national cleanliness campaign formerly known as Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, which started by Federal Government on October 2, 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi.

The conference got started with the felicitation of Chief Guests by the Principal of the institution, Dr. Siddaramiah Pujar. The Chief Guests were the Chairman of Garden City Institution, Dr. Joseph V.G. and Environmental Officer of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (K.S.P.C.B), Mr. S. Nanda Kumar.

The paper presentation was followed by this felicitation ceremony where concerning issues regarding the pollution and measures to cope with the same. The conference was well coordinated by the HOD of Management and Commerce, Prof. Reji Meprathe.

The most appreciable ideas emerged in the conference included the reuse and recycling of waste in approaching times. A question-answer session was followed by every paper presentation to clear the doubts occurring in the present one’s minds.

One of the college students, Mehrul Mehta was glad to be a part of this conference. He said, “It’s a motivation for the young aspirants like us, who can do a lot in times to come towards preserving and protecting our environment from further damage.”

 The conference concluded with two Live Band Performances by Agnee and The Massive Vibes. Students and teachers did not only enjoy but also appreciated the band performances.
