Shukaku Inc. Phnom Penh City Centre : Two Boeung Kak activists receive land title from Khan Daun Penh’s Authorities
Two most prominent Boeung Kak activist grandma NgetKhhun, better known as Mammi and Ms. Kim Vanny have received their land title officially from Khan Daun Penh authority on 28th July, 2015.
The handover ceremony was presided over by Khan Daun Penh Governor Mr. KouchChamroeum, along with senior officials from the Phnom Penh City Hall Mr. HokKolin and Ms. ChoeumVatthei. In attendance were other prominent guests.
The officials granted the land title to both families namely grandma NgetKhhun alias Mammi with an area of 8m x 16m and Ms. Kim Vanny with an area of 6m x 29m, both from Village 22 at Boeung Kak, Sangkat Sras Chork, Khan Daun Penh.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. KouchChamroeurn reiterated that the authorities have always taken care of the people and are willing to find solutions to the plights. However, some efforts are being marred by political party and non-governmental organization.
He advised the residents to take care of their land and the land deeds and added the residents can use the land titles for official purposes. They don’t have to worry of anyone coming to take their land anymore and they should keep the land for long-term use and not short-term gain.
