Medivac adopted by Hindustan Power projects to treat its Anuppur employees
With the adoption of Medivac to treat the patients, a new dimension has been added in the field of Medical evacuation in India. In order to aid the employees who suffered from injuries in the accident at Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh, the management of Hindustan Power projects adopted a three pronged approach of medical treatment. It is yet another benchmark of innovation and success established by Hindustan Powerprojects Pvt Ltd (HPPPL), under the guidance of its Chairman, Ratul Puri.
Anuppur being a small district has limited health care facilities and specialized burn treatment doctors. Due to the inadequate health facilities at the local health centre of Anuppur (as is the case of most of the health centres in rural India), the patients suffering from serious injuries that required specialized treatment were airlifted to Raipur and subsequently to Delhi. The patients with injuries requiring immediate access to medical services were taken to Bilaspur and the patients with minor injuries were treated at Anuppur itself. Following this approach, all the injured patients got specialized treatment according to their needs. Thus, the absence of inadequate medical facilities is no longer a barrier towards accessing proper medical services. It is well evident and demonstrated by the management of Hindustan Power in this unfortunate accident. It is one of the rarest occasions in which a helping hand was extended by a corporate to such a great extend, resulting in speedy recovery of the patients. With the timely medical treatment provided by Hindustan Power, the company has set up an example in the field of medical evacuation.
