Prof.Dr.Mukund Sarda highlights the importance of Experience in legal practice for entering Judicial Service
The Golden Jubilee of Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College, Pune held on 16th January 2016, highlighted the importance of experience in legal practice for entering judicial service. The event was graced by the presence of Honorable Justice Uday Lalit. He delivered a lecture on `Judicial service: Attracting young talents’ sharing his views with the audience. He stated that, “Gaining vital experience in the field of legal practice is the key for young talent to enter judicial service. Nowadays, young generation of lawyers are very tech savvy as they can easily access latest judgments, materials and books online and on smart phones. However, the material they posses is just a text but, the context is missing and the same is required to be gained only through experience.” Lalit further added that, “It was important for educational institutions to ensure that they aptly encourage young taken in legal education to go for a career in judicial service.”
Prof.Dr.Mukund Sarda, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s dean of law faculty and NLC principal focused on the need for young lawyers to pursue career in judicial service. He highlighted the importance and need of experience in legal practice for entering judicial service. The deemed University launched a massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in Law on the occasion. The MOOC offers a wide range of three- to six-month duration courses in legal writing and drafting, corporate laws, intellectual property laws, new media laws, internet law and policy, among others.
