Bronze medal bagged by Sheikh Juma in Asian Games
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Juma Al Maktoum bagged the third position with the double trap bronze medal in the Asian Games in Incheon. The medal won by him was dedicated to HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum by the UAE mission participating in the XVII Asian Games, Incheon, South Korea. A tribute was paid to HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee by Shaikh Juma for the support and care accorded by him to the UAE athletes which had a major contribution in his achievement.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Juma Al Maktoum managed to position himself in the finals after successfully shooting 139 skates, while Saif Al Kaabi and Khalid Al Kaabi were eliminated from the tournament after shooting 133 and 128 skates respectively.
The gold medal was won by China’s Hu Binyuan defeating Fehaid Al Deehani of Kuwait in the final. Rashid Al Athba from Qatar was defeated by Sheikh Juma by scoring 29 out of maximum 30 while 28 targets were shot by the Qatari. At the end of five rounds, Qatar, china and Kuwait had identical scores of 404 points. But the rules favored Qatar to take the gold medal on a better cumulative score in their fifth and final round, with China winning the silver and Kuwait settled for the bronze. The fourth and fifth position was bagged by South Korea with a total of 401 points and UAE with 400 points respectively.
