Phnom Penh City Center kicks off Registration drive for Design & Win Competition
Phnom Penh City Center (PPCC) kicks off its registration drive at the concourse of Legend Cinema, TK Avenue for its Design & Win Competition which will be launched on 16 August, 2015 at Phnom Penh Hotel.
Phnom Penh City Center is calling all University students and young working adults from the ages of 18 – 30 in the field of architectural, design and urban planning to join its competition to design street furniture for its upcoming Central Park. The first prize is a 2months internship program in an international design office that specializes in integrating urban planning, architecture and landscape disciplines. There is also cash prize for the 1st and 2nd winners and all participating contestants will receive certificate of participation.
“The objective of this competition to discover young talented individuals with exceptional vision to conceptualize his/her idea into reality while embracing the vision of the city,” according to Ms. Amu Pillay, Head of Communications.“The challenge is to create environments that will enhance people’s experiences practical to everyday living. Ultimately, the design should encompass functionality, sustainability and synergy that will benefit people from all walks of life,” she adds.
The judges are industry experts who are also members of the Cambodia Society of Architects. They will be judging based on designs that Demonstrates the use of eco-friendly materials and construction techniques aimed at reducing environmental pollution.
