Mahimananda Mishra among others felicitated by Orissa CM at Think Odisha Leadership Awards, 2010

Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Orissa, recently awarded several notable personalities from diverse fields at the Think Odisha Leadership Awards, 2010. The fields included government and society, business, entertainment, sports, CSR, environment, social organization, education, literature, art and culture categories, to name a few.

The CM urged all the present dignitaries to step forward and ensure the overall development of all sections of the state.

“Development cannot happen in isolation. We should get ready to go that extra mile that is required to realize this goal,” he said while addressing the audience at Think Odisha Leadership Awards.

The event witnessed the participation of several leaders from different walks of life, who were felicitated and well-acknowledged for their contribution in their respective fields. Mahimananda Mishra, Prof Dr Damodar Acharya, Baidyanath Mishra, Bijoy Kumar Patnaik, Harihar Mishra, among others.

Odisha-based tycoon, Mahimananda Mishra, Managing Director, Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL), was awarded for business leadership. The prestigious honor testifies his successful ventures in diverse fields, such as stevedoring, construction, automobile, civil aviation hospitality, entertainment, steels to education and mining.

From the education sector, Prof Dr Damodar Acharya, currently director, IIT, Kharagpur and Dr Baidyanath Mishra were the joint award winners. The honor reflects their major contribution in the field of education.

Mr Bijoy Kumar Patnaik, principal secretary to the chief minister, was awarded for his efforts to convert the loss-making PSUs into revenue-generating entities, in the Government-Society Interface category. He was also instrumental in enhancing the irrigation network in the agriculture sector.

Duly honored for her unmatched acting skills in the entertainment category was Cinestar Mrs Aparajita Mohanty. She has brought about a virtual revolution in the Odia film world.

Dilip Tirkey, Syam Sunder Das and Dr Ratan Das (Joint award), Dr PK Jena, Mr Harihar Mishra and Mr Sudarshan Sahoo were also awarded in the Sports, Social Activist, environment, literature and Art & Culture categories, respectively.

An initiative of the Times of India Group, Think Odisha Leadership Awards aim at acknowledging the efforts of individuals and organizations for the betterment of the state.
