With Diwali knocking early this year the much awaited alluring Diwali deals will be thrown by e-commerce giant Flipkart and Amazon. The rivals have taken their stance and are all set to offer best possible deals. The customers have a lot gain of the contest in terms of best Diwali deals with better logistical services.
The global e-commerce giant, Amazon is preparing to launch its Flagship annual sale later this month and Flipkart is planning to hold its flagship Big Billion Sale around 20 to 24 September. Both the giants will try to woo its client base with best Diwali Deals in order to surpass the other. Though Amazon has yet not declared the dates for its Great Indian Festival Sale, confidant disclosed that it will be around the same time as Flipkart.
It will not be an easy task for Amazon India to push behind the well-funded Indian Star startup Flipkart which was successfully able to raise 3$ Billion this year. In recent comments Flipkart declared that it aims to triple its gross sale this Diwali season doubling the sales of Amazon. As per last year records Flipkart was able to grab sale of 15.5 units ahead of Amazons 15 million units.
Where Flipkart seems pretty confident on the basis of its last year performance Amazon is striving hard to win this festive season. Amit Agarwal, the senior vice president for Amazon India declared that Amazon will be doubling the Diwali offers and will also be working on extending logistics for a better service. Responding to Flipkart’s word play he said that he doesn’t wish to comment on “misinformed opinions”.
Amit Agarwal also stressed that the American parent company will continue to invest highly in India. He added that this year the company will be opening up in a leadership position in context to selections, delivery, value, traffic and number of active users from third party apps, as well as data on sales from carriers and sellers.
Amazon has already doubled the seller base to 222,000 sellers, added 80 million products and also increased the eligible products under Amazon Prime to 7 million. Like Flipkart, Amazon is also planning to offer high discounts, no cost EMIs, exclusive products from big brands and alluring buyback offers to attract new customers. Amazon also tends to have an upper hand with its feature Prime the membership of which makes the member eligible for lucrative discounts, fast delivery, video streaming and other benefits.
Flipkart is also occupied to maintain its position and compete with the global giant by widening its sales. Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive for Flipkart has given tough targets to its executives to double the sales by last year BBD Sale.
