Vikram Singh Puar urges Dewas to contribute towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Born in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, Vikram Singh Puar has put his foot forward in making his birthplace cleaner.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan mission was launched with the idea to ensure hygiene, waste management and sanitation across India. The Narendra Modi government implemented this mission across India. Since the initiative took off, several famous personalities have contributed to the Abhiyan.

Vikram Singh Puar, with his slogan ‘perfect sanitation makes an ideal town’, envisages a cleaner Dewas. The son of former minister late Tukoji Rao Puar, he is an alumni of Daly College of Indore, and a graduate from Symbiosis, Pune. He completed his Masters in Political Science from the London School of Economics.

After attaining his higher education, Vikram Singh Puar returned to his hometown. He believes in serving the people and is connected to them at a grass root level.

He says, “I have always seen my father and grandfather working for the people of Dewas. I wanted to attain education to work in a better way for Dewas and its people. However, there have been certain areas which couldn’t be served well. I wanted to work in those areas and use my education for the betterment of Dewas.”

Vikram Singh Puar is often seen taking a keen interest in the new ventures for the development of his birthplace. He is also seen addressing the issues raised by the common people of Dewas. Recently, he took out a street rally and appealed the people to make Dewas a cleaner town. The crowd in the rally was carrying posters and placards and were heard chanting the slogan ‘Kuch kadam, kuch prayas, swachh Dewas’. The slogan is a request to the people for making their contributions towards cleanliness.

Vikram Singh Puar urged his people, “We all want to see Dewas cleaner and healthier. My team and I are working towards a cleaner Dewas, but I also request you all to take little steps in making our mission a success. Madhya Pradesh has already become the cleanest state of the country. But, I envision Dewas becoming the cleanest town, and I need your support to work towards the same.”

The well-known philanthropist is walking on the footsteps of his forefathers and following their teachings. As we see him taking the initiatives, we are looking forward to a cleaner Dewas.
