A glimpse at all the major events in the Ambani – Piramal wedding

In what is the biggest wedding event of the year, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal have finally tied the knot. Storming the internet with news flashes every few minutes, the marriage saw some of the most renowned names in the world dancing to Bollywood numbers.

The celebrations began with an engagement party at Lake Como, where Isha Ambani exchanged rings with Anand Piramal. The event was a private affair, after which the couple enjoyed a water fountain show, while they were showered with rose petals.

The pre-wedding bash that started in Udaipur was attended by a host of Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh khan, Priyanka Chopra, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, the Bachchan family and many others. The ceremonies at Udaipur were also adorned by international celebrities like Beyoncé Knowles, who performed for the audience. Another name that surprised people was the presence of Former First Lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton.

The kick-off for the wedding was done with an Anna Seva event on December 7. The three day event, which ran parallel to the pre-wedding functions was done to seek the blessings of the people of Udaipur for the wedding of Isha Ambani. The Ambani family including all Isha’s brothers Anmol, Akash, Anshul & Anant Ambani fed 5,100 people from Udaipur (mostly differently abled) three times every day from December 7 to December 10.

Apart from the dance, fun and frolic, both the families hosted a Swadesh Bazaar, set up in Udaivilas. With the bazaar, their aim was to promote locals artisans and let them showcase their craft, along with India’s rich cultural heritage. In a statement to India Today, the Ambanis and Piramals said, “During the weekend prior to the wedding, the Ambani and Piramal families will host their friends and family in Udaipur, where they are partnering with artisans and craftsmen to integrate local culture and traditions into the festivities.”

While the pre-wedding saw thousands of guests including the who’s who of the glam world, the marriage that happened on December 12 was more of a private affair. With a guest list that included 600 people, both the families blessed the couple a happy married life.
