At the Special Event 2019, Apple has forayed into video streaming services with its latest offering – Apple TV+. Dubbed “the new home for the world’s most creative storytellers”, the video subscription service would go on air this fall, featuring exclusive original shows, movies and documentaries.

Apple TV+ will feature an all new slate of programming, featuring some of the world’s most celebrated artists, including Steven Spielberg, M. Night Shyamalan, Oprah Winfrey, Jon M. Chu, Jennifer Aniston, and more. Subscribers will enjoy authentic and inspiring stories with compelling characters with emotional depth, on demand and ad free, exclusively on the Apple TV app.

At the event, Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, stated that the company is honored to put the absolute best lineup of storytellers in the world, both in front of and behind the camera, to Apple TV+. “We are thrilled to give viewers a sneak peek of Apple TV+ and cannot wait for them to tune in, starting this fall. Apple TV+ will be home to some of the highest quality original storytelling that TV and movie lovers have seen yet,” Cue said.

Along with Apple TV+, the tech giant also introduced the Apple TV app and Apple TV channels coming in May 2019. The Apple TV app unites the diverse approaches to find and watch TV series, films, news, sports, etc. in one app across iPhone, Apple TV, Mac, iPad, Smart TVs and other streaming devices.

Users can subscribe to new Apple TV channels all on demand, accessible online and offline, with staggering picture quality and sound. Paying only for the services they need, users can stream sports, news and network TV from satellite and cable providers. They can also rent or buy iTunes movies and TV shows all within the new, customized Apple TV app.

Apple TV à la carte channels will be made available in May for the users to subscribe and watch them in the Apple TV app. There will be no additional apps, accounts or passwords required. Apple TV channels will be home to popular services such as HBO, SHOWTIME, CBS All Access, Starz, Smithsonian Channel, Tastemade, EPIX, Noggin, along with new services like MTV Hits. The selection would continue to be updated over due course of time.

The Apple TV app will also become the new home to the hundreds of thousands of movies and TV shows which are currently available for rent or purchase in the iTunes Store.
