Tata Steel Opens New Colorcoat® Distribution Centre in Glasgow

Colorsteels, Tata Steel’s leading UK service centre for Colorcoat® pre-finished steels, has opened a new hub in Glasgow to distribute its popular pre-cut packs of Colorcoat® pre-finished steel products.

The 1,000sqm site has been set up to provide a fast distribution service to all fabricators in Scotland and the north of England, who make products such as flashings, fabrications and gutter systems – primarily servicing the building industry. The infrastructure and construction market in the region is supposed to benefit from the next-day delivery service from the hub creation as well as the company’s market-leading guarantees

“The construction market is very active in Scotland and the north of England, and we wanted to provide our off-the-shelf packs in the most popular colours ready for immediate dispatch to the region,” says Glenn Cayeux, Area Sales Manager – North UK. “We can also offer a wider range of colours which can be quickly sourced from our manufacturing site in Shotton, North Wales.”

The Colorcoat® FastPak service has been operating successfully from Shotton for the past five years, however, this is the first outlet that Colorsteels has opened in Scotland. The location was chosen for its easy access to the M8, M80, M74 and with connections to the whole of the North.

All popular products and colours are being offered in the off-the-shelf packs across the full range of Tata Steel’s Colorcoat® products including Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra®, Colorcoat Prisma, Colorcoat® LG Colorcoat® PVDF, Colorcoat® SDP 50, Colorcoat® PE 15 and Colorcoat Aquatite®.

Altogether there is a choice of more than 50 different, materials, products and colour options in the standard packs, with a further 130 specifications available in both standard and non-standard sizes. All the steel sheets are pre-inspected to meet the highest customer standards and delivered on strong pallets in recyclable packaging materials.
