Chairman and Managing Director of the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), on the event of 42nd annual general meeting of the company, announced Jio’s broadband internet services under the arm JioFiber.
The commercial operation of the services is scheduled to roll out on 5th September. The company’s tariff plans would begin from Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 per month and speeds from 100 Mbps to 1Gbps.
Besides, the costumers will be eligible to get a free 4K set-top box and a landline connection. You will also be able to make video calls across the nation on mobile as well as landlines.
You will also be able to attach a webcam to your TV, and you will be able to make a video call to the other JioCall users across the platform.
Users who will opt for annual plans will be getting a free HD, or 4K LED TVs under JioFiber Welcome Offer. You don’t have to pay extra as the JioFiber will also come with a number of OTT applications as part of the of this plan.
The Premium JioFiber costumers under the Jio First Day First Show will also be able to watch movies on their TVs on the same day as their theatrical release.
The JioFibre broadband will be available across the major cities and towns in India. However, the company will start the services in selected few cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Noida, Ghaziabad, Haridwar, Bhubaneshwar, Bengaluru, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, Meerut, Vizag, Lucknow, Surat, Jamshedpur, Gaya, Patna, Port Blair, Punjab and some more states.
The Jio set-top-box will not only show TV programmes but will also allow gaming, VR and MR services through its STB.
