BexCom’s AKASH DTH to partner with Iredto for securing content and seamless delivery

Moving from traditional analog cable services to Bangladesh’s first ever DTH service: “Akash”, Salman F Rahman’s Beximco Group continues to strengthen the national infrastructure

Beximco Communications Limited (BexCom), a provider of digital pay TV services in Bangladesh, has chosen “Irdeto” to secure the content delivered by its direct-to-home (DTH) service “AKASH”. Being the country’s only active holder of DTH license, Bexcom launched its new platform using Irdeto Cloaked CA— delivering about 110 high definition channels, and premium content.

On May 16th, 2019 BexCom launched its first ever DTH service in the country under the brand name: “AKASH” — to take the Pay TV industry of Bangladesh to a new era of excellence.

With DTH digital pay TV services expected to grow in the upcoming months, Bexcom’s AKASH is looking to capitalize on its already existing infrastructure, by boosting the TV market – providing better services in the sector which is generally dominated by traditional analog cable services.

DS Faisal Hyder, CEO, BexCom recently emphasized upon the importance of innovation in entertainment industry, as delivering a combination of premium content and secure delivery can create a great user experience. Every sector nowadays is looking forward to strengthen its security partner as it’s a key part of ensuring success in the long run.
With Irdeto’s consultative outlook, AKASH has found its perfect partner, through which it is expected to meet both the technical and commercial needs of the country.

Salman F Rahman’s BexCom with its DTH services “AKASH”, broadcasts using five transponders on Bangladesh’s first satellite, the Bangabandhu Satellite (BS!), at 119.1 east. To this Doug Lowther, CEO of Irdeto added that there is a huge market for digital services in Bangladesh and BexCom understands this opportunity.
He further mentioned that customers in the modern world are looking for an interface that is unique and friendly.
