Salesforce announced to train 250,000 students in India by 2022

On Thursday, the global leader in Costumer-Relationship-Management (CRM) –Salesforce announced that it is committed to train 250,000 students for the technology jobs of tomorrow by 2022.

In that direction, Salesforce has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana Academy for the Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and ICT Academy Kerala and ICT Academy. Through these partnerships, Salesforce will bring its free online learning platform (Trailhead) into the classrooms.

The recent study by the IDC claims that the Salesforce economy will create revenue worth $67 billion and around 550,000 direct jobs in India by 2024. Trailhead, regardless of any socio-economic background, gender or ethnicity, will help the students to build the skills they need to acquire jobs in the technology sector.

  • Using Trailhead, Salesforce along with ICT Academy – a government of India initiative will train over 500 educators. In turn, in the next coming years, the educators will train over 150,000 students, from 200 member institutes across the country. The partnership will also create and nurture 20 student groups.
  • Salesforce will also run a unique initiative -Skills Delivery Platform Kerala (SDPK) in partnership with the existing collaboration with the ICT Academy of Kerala, focused on establishing a state-of-the-art e-learning network. In one year, the pilot initiative by the Salesforce will reach out to engineering almost 25,000 students across 75 colleges.
  • The partnership with TASK will reach out to 50 institutions in the state of Telangana and 100 educators training 75,000 students over the next three years while creating and promoting over 20 student groups to be a part of the Trailblazer community.
