Singapore government officials praise Sahara India Pariwar, call Aamby Valley ‘Ideal Smart City’

Senior officials of the Singapore government recently praised Sahara India Pariwar, and termed the group’s hill city township Aamby Valley as ‘ideal smart city’. This happened during the two-day visit to Singapore by Upendra Rai, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Sahara News Network.

Rai, who is also the head of Sahara One Entertainment and Sahara Motion Pictures, was in Singapore to attend a seminar at the National University of Singapore’s Environmental Research Institute. He talked about the development and environmental challenges in the Indian cities.

In his speech, Upendra Rai also talked about the ongoing smart city project in India, and referred to the Aamby Valey by pointing out that Sahara India Pariwar had taken the initiative to build a smart city 16 years from today under the guidance of Saharasri Subrata Roy.

“Any tourist will be amazed by seeing the Aamby Valley City planned and developed by the chief Subrata Roy’s Sahara India. In this hill city, not only the basic facilities have been presented in the modern form, but the highest ideals of environmental protection have also been followed,” Rai said.

In his address, Upendra Rai also praised the scientists working under the guidance of the Government of Singapore, and said that despite the limited availability of water resources, the country’s researchers have done a great job for the whole world. “A large country like India should adopt the Singapore model to solve problems related to water crisis,” Rai said.

Before attending the seminar, Upendra Rai also met the renowned scientist Prof. Hou Yang Young and other faculty members of the university. Professor Young was impressed with the fact that Sahara India developed a city that equals to 1/20th of Singapore in size, by using its own resources. Rai was also asked various questions by the students at the National University of Singapore in this regard.

During his visit to Singapore, the Sahara India Media CEO also interacted with senior officials of the Public Utilities Board (PUB). It is to be noted that PUB is an important institution of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Government of Singapore.

Rai also met officials from Singapore Enterprise, which provides necessary guidance and resources to all start-ups and innovations in its country. The Singapore Enterprise officials honoured him, and appreciated the achievements of the Sahara India by calling Aamby Valley an ideal smart city.
