‘2021 Indiaspora Government Leaders’ – A list that will make every Indian proud!

A wave of more than 200 Indian faces has hit the shore of 15 countries across the globe, including the US and the UK, as maintained by a US-based organization in their first-of-its-kind list. Indians have been shinning all across the globe, crafting a legacy for their upcoming generations.

The 2021 India Government Larder list, released on February 15, 2021 derived the information from publicly-available resources and government websites. It claimed that more than 200 leaders have an Indian origin and are serving 15 countries with more than 60 of them holding cabinet positions.

The founder of Indiaspora, Mr Rangaswami, who is a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur and investor, spoke about how he feels gratified by seeing Kamala Harris as the Vice President and is very proud.

“It is a huge source of pride to have the first woman and first person of color as the Vice President of the world’s oldest democracy be someone of Indian heritage. We wanted to use this seminal moment on Presidents’ Day to highlight a host of others in the diaspora who also is in public service,” he said.

Mr Rangaswami also mentioned in a statement, “These leaders are building a legacy for future generations, and one that extends beyond our community to all of the constituents and communities that they serve.”

The list covers many people of color in lead roles such as legislators, diplomats, heads of central banks and senior civil servants all across the world in countries such as Canada, Singapore, Australia, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

On being included in the list, congressman Ami Bera, Chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, said, “It is an honor to be included on the 2021 Indiaspora Government Leaders List. As the longest-serving Indian-American Member of Congress, I am proud to be a leader in the Indian American community, which has become an integral part of American life and society.”

As specified by India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Indians are the largest émigrés population in the world.

The representatives mentioned in the ‘2021 Indiaspora Government Leaders’ together speak for more than 587 million constituents & their global impact can be seen on their country’s estimate of USD 28 trillion GDP!
