Shaping ourselves for the new normal – Trends boosting in the post COVID world

As the world strives to move out of the Covid-19 pandemic effects, it has started to pace up with the new normal where companies and customers have to rethink on the ways to communicate for effective performance in the society. In the wake of the pandemic protocols, many businesses and individuals have adopted the new practices adhering to the social distancing measures and other imposed restrictions. In-home DIY tasks like cooking, grooming, painting, etc., have seen a significant increase in the current Google searches.

Although the fight against COVID pandemic is still not over, with the vaccine in hand, a light is visible at the end of the tunnel, hoping that another train is not heading towards us. To be aware and comply with the transitions instead of just grinding through the present is the best way to retain profitably in the post Covid world. Below are the three major trends that are in popular demand in the current scenario.

  • Work from home – The morning rush hours are finally at a standstill. Majority of the workforce is away from office and working remotely with equal or more efficiency. This is also possible because of the advancement in digitization tools like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), collaboration tools and others. It has allowed people to easily conduct video conferences and trainings while sitting in their hometowns. Despite the challenges to adopt the new trend, certain positive developments have also made their way in the work patterns. Flexibility of time and place along with the well-being of employees has contributed to an effective work output.
  • E-learning – Classroom teaching converted into online teaching is something that always seemed to be impossible. But the closure of schools and institutes during lockdown and the aim to continue with academic progress of the learners, initiated the concept of online learning and virtual classes. Many portals like, zoom calls, Google meet, etc. have given their best in turning the impossible to possible. Some major developments like school buses been used to provide mobile hotspots, instructional presentations on local public broadcasting stations and many others have proven to be a good learning opportunity even for the rural sectors of the society.
  • E-commerce – The seismic shift to online shopping has entirely changed the way customers buy their stuff. Apart from the leading e-commerce portals like Amazon, Big Bazaar, Alibaba, etc., many upcoming small private business have found a good number of user interaction. Now it has become quite easy to buy groceries, clothes, electronics and other things in just a few clicks instead of going out in the market and purchasing.

The last year and a half has been tough and challenging for one and all, but the new routines that have made their way amidst the Covid pandemic have gradually eased the obstructions.
