Punjab CM Mann Denies Rift Within AAP After Meeting Kejriwal in Delhi

Amid growing speculation about internal discord within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has firmly denied any rift following his meeting with AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. The meeting, held on February 11, 2025, aimed to address concerns regarding alleged differences between the Punjab and Delhi leadership within the party.

No Rift, Only Coordination: CM Mann

Speaking to the media after his meeting with Kejriwal, Mann dismissed rumors of internal strife, calling them baseless and politically motivated. “There is no conflict within AAP. Our party remains united, and I frequently meet Arvind Kejriwal to discuss governance and strategy,” he stated. He emphasized that AAP continues to function as a cohesive unit, focusing on public welfare and fulfilling its electoral promises in Punjab.

Mann clarified that the meeting was routine and focused on developmental projects, governance strategies, and preparations for upcoming elections. “We are working together to strengthen AAP’s presence and ensure that our governance model benefits the people,” he added.

Speculations of Discontent

Rumors of a rift emerged after reports suggested differences between the Punjab and Delhi factions of AAP. Some political observers pointed to recent decisions taken by the Punjab government without apparent coordination with the central leadership. Additionally, opposition parties have attempted to portray AAP as struggling with internal disagreements, questioning its ability to govern efficiently.

However, party insiders have dismissed these claims as exaggerated. “There may be differences in opinions, but that is natural in any democratic setup. It does not mean there is a split within the party,” a senior AAP leader stated.

Opposition Targets AAP

Opposition parties, particularly the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), have been quick to react to the speculation, alleging that AAP’s internal issues could impact governance in Punjab. BJP leaders have predicted the downfall of the AAP government in Punjab, while Congress leaders claimed that Punjab would reject AAP as Delhi did.

Despite these claims, Mann reiterated that his government remains focused on delivering results. “Our priority is the welfare of the people, not political gossip,” he remarked.
