Global IT powerhouse Infosys has bagged a long term contract from ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel-maker. The deal will see Infosys conduct a digital transformation of the Luxembourg-based steel giant’s European operations.
Infosys will provide ArcelorMittal with application management and Business Process Management (BPM) services. This engagement will allow Infosys to share next-generation application management services to enhance, secure and upgrade the IT aspect of ArcelorMittal’s operations. The BPM services will be established in the latter’s Europe’s Business Centre of Excellence (BCoE) shared services centre.
In a statement, Infosys stated that the collaboration would help cement its presence in Europe and maximize synergies with the ArcelorMittal Group globally.
Jasmeet Singh, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Manufacturing, Infosys said, “The need to accelerate digital transformation has never been more urgent in the manufacturing sector. We are pleased to partner with ArcelorMittal and help them stay one step ahead of disruption.”
“Leveraging our global delivery model, right shoring, and robust BPM offerings, we are committed to driving efficiency, bolstering operational excellence, and establishing future-ready services in line with ArcelorMittal’s growth strategies,” Jasmeet added.
Looking for ways to cut costs without compromising quality, European companies have increased outsourcing to Indian firms. Companies like Infosys, TCS and Wipro are expected to reap the benefits of these developments.
CEO of ArcelorMittal Europe, Geert Van Poelvoorde said, “We are delighted to partner with Infosys on our digital transformation journey. Infosys not only shares our vision and values but also brings agility, delivery excellence, and willingness to walk the extra mile to ensure mutual success. We are confident that this collaboration will mean our employees and associates are equipped with powerful new tools that enhance our competitiveness and fuel our innovation.”
