CM calls for war on covid-19 as Delhi records over 10k cases in 4 days

In the wake of increasing number of covid-19 positive cases in the National Capital, the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that more testing and isolating patients will be the way forward to tackle the outbreak of the virus.

The chief minister tweeted “Delhi declares war on Corona. We have doubled testing, started testing at markets, bus stands, Mohalla Clinics etc. Test, test, test. Isolate infected people and provide them good treatment.”

According to Arvind Kejriwal, the recent rise in cases is a result of increased testing. During a press conference, he said that the situation is completely under control in Delhi and there is no room for complacency. He also reiterated that the officers have been told not to worry if the numbers increase due to multi-fold testing.

After Delhi recorded more than 10,000 cases in the last four days, the CM came up with the call to declare war on the virus outbreak. On Friday alone, the national capital recorded 2,914 fresh cases of coronavirus.

India has been reporting over 80k positive cases of Covid-19 daily from the last few days. Other than this, the country has also reported over 1k deaths for past many days.

The total number of cases in India has crossed the 40 lakh mark and the country has also reported nearly 70k deaths since the spread of covid-19. The situation is getting worse with the number of fresh cases and deaths witnessing an increase every day.

In the next 24 hours, India is set to go past Brazil to become the 2nd most affected country after the US.
