Naveen Jindal is focused on strengthening the education sector to produce excellent students and responsible citizens. For this purpose, he incepted the O.P Jindal Global University in the memory of his father in his native state of Haryana in 2009. Today, it is one of the most renowned universities in the country, has brought recognition to India on the global level. JGU is ranked among the top 800 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2020. It was also ranked among the top 450 universities in Asia in the QS World University Rankings in 2019, besides being ranked as one of the global top 50 universities under 50 years of age.

Deeply committed to its core institutional values of interdisciplinary and innovative pedagogy, JGU is a research-intensive university that promotes pluralism, globalism, and international engagement. “It’s very important to build institutions of higher learning. Under the leadership of Naveen Jindal, the company’s initiatives are mainly implemented across the states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand. The industrialist’s social commitment is not limited to a particular domain, but his initiatives are concentrated on education, health, and nutrition, sanitation, entrepreneurship development, population stabilization, among others. He actively promotes sports, art and culture through CSR activities of JSPL. In the FY 2018-19 alone, the JSPL had voluntarily spent Rs 13.72 crores on the CSR.

Through the CSR arm of the company known as JSPL Foundation, a number of initiatives have been launched by Naveen to support the local students, athletes and sports persons to showcase their talent on a decent platform.

The Foundation has been a guiding force behind the sustainable social development across the business locations of JSPL. Under the leadership of Naveen Jindal, the foundation has aligned its programs with the Government and other developmental agencies to transform the lives of the communities for a comprehensive growth of the nation in the long run.

Even during the initial phase of covid-19 pandemic, the company came forward to make elaborative arrangements to limit the spread of the virus. . The CSR arm of the firm started its on-ground services, helping the poor and vulnerable, immediately after the announcement of COVID-19 lockdown in the country. The industrialist ensured that the employees, and their loved ones were safe and well-protected.

“An organization is bound to prosper and the opportunities are set to galore for the youth if sustainable efforts are made in the right direction,” said Jindal, while talking about the future of his company and the young Indians, who are passionate about ushering in a change.
